Gorakur: In a tragic incident, three persons including two children were burnt alive on Sunday after a high tension line fell on a bike in the Uttar Pradesh’s Gorkhpur district. Among the dead included a 24-year-old man, his daughter, and his niece. While her daughter was two years old, the niece was nine years old.
Soon after reaching the spot, the police tried to take the possession of the police. However, they were stopped by angry protesters. The incident took place near the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). After the incident the locals started creating ruckus and they also blamed the local electricity office for the incident.
CM Yogi Adityanath condoles deaths
After receiving the information, state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also the MLA from the constituencies, spoke to the District Magistrate (DM) and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and asked them to reach the spot where the incident took place. He was expressed condolence on the death of the three individuals
Accident due to falling of 11 thousand volt line
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Shivraj Nishad, a resident of Vishunpur Khurd Tola Dhanha, his two-year-old daughter and nine-year-old niece. On Sunday evening, they were going somewhere on a bike. While passing near the canal in Sonbarsa, a high-tension light suddenly broke and fell on them, resulting in a fatal accident. The incident took at around 6 pm. An 11000-volt line fell on them.
After the incident, those present on the spot tried hard to save them, but by the time help arrived, all three had died. As soon as the information was received, the police reached and tried to send them to the post-mortem house in an ambulance, but the angry crowd stopped them, resulting in tensions in the area.
