New Delhi: Amid an ongoing multi-agency probe into a mysterious blast in Delhi’s Rohini today, Chief Minister Atishi criticised the BJP-led government for the law and order issues in the capital. Delhi Police, which falls under the Union Home Ministry, has been a longstanding point of contention between the Centre and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
The explosion, occurring at 7:47 am, blew off a section of the CRPF school wall in Prashant Vihar. While no injuries were reported, the blast damaged car windows and nearby shop hoardings. Several security agencies, including Delhi Police Special Cell, National Investigation Agency, CRPF and NSG, are investigating the incident.
‘Delhi is like Mumbai underworld’
In a post on X, Atishi said that the blast had revealed the “crumbling” state of law and order in Delhi. “The responsibility to maintain law and order in Delhi is with BJP’s central government. But BJP ignores this and uses its time to disrupt the work of Delhi’s elected governments. This is why Delhi’s situation is now that of Mumbai during the era of the Underworld. Bullets are being fired in the open, gangsters are extorting money and criminals are upbeat. The BJP neither has the intent nor the ability (to handle this),” she said.
If by mistake, Delhiites give them (BJP) charge of Delhi government, the condition of hospitals, power and water supply will become the same as the law and order situation in Delhi,” the chief minister added.
BJP calls Atishi puppet CM
Responding to Atishi’s remarks, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi criticised her, saying, “The puppet CM is known for this. No matter the issue, she always blames the Centre. Something very serious has occurred and the situation is completely under control. Instead of showing concern for what actions should be taken, a political blame game has started. It is immature and irresponsible to politicise serious matters.”
