New Delhi: Two people died and 14 others were injured after a vehicle they were traveling in plunged into a deep gorge at Dandaru area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Wednesday evening.
According to officials, the accident involved a cruiser vehicle (6576-JK17) near Treethal Nala in Dachhan. The driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to fall into the gorge.
Injured taken to hospital
Local residents and police quickly launched a rescue operation following the incident. Despite their efforts, two people lost their lives on the spot, while 14 others sustained injuries.
The injured were taken to the district hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed his condolences and provided updates on social media platform X. “Just now spoke to DC #Kishtwar, Sh Rajesh Kumar Shavan after receiving the news of an unfortunate accident of cruiser in Dandaru area.
