New Delhi: The second day of TV9 Network and Shriram Finance’s Highway Heroes Campaign in Maharashtra’s Kalamboli saw high level of enthusiasm and passion as hundreds of truck drivers participated in the special campaign. A Government of India certified training program was conducted for truck drivers for a consecutive day. Drivers were informed about the road safety, traffic rules, first-aid, and CMVR.
The drivers received certificate, which is recognised by the Government of India, and the training program certificate is said to be equivalent to Grade 12 certificate. The training period was completed inside three hours herein truck drivers are taught new technology and tips for safe driving. This certificate allows drivers to renew their driving license without any additional training.
Apart from physical, mental and technical aspects of driving, the truck drivers were taught stress management and ways to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Session on protection against cyber fraud
Maqsood Memon conducted a session on understanding money and protection from cyber fraud. He gave tips on saving money, how to avoid online fraud, and manage expenses in appropriate manner.
Other than that, Doctor Suraj from Piramal Swasthya spoke to the drivers on the symptoms, prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis (TB). He highlighted the importance of truck drivers contacting the disease and why timely testing is crucial for it.
Free Health Checkup Camp
The Apollo Healthcare team organised a free health checkup camp, where drivers checked their blood pressure, sugar, and eyes. Many of them got their first medical checkup because of the free facility. This was after Vinay Zende and Nisha Yadav took a yoga session with the drivers, teaching them poses and exercises.
Next stop of ‘Highway Heroes’: Gandhidham
The next destination city for the Highway Heroes campaign is Gandhidham, Gujarat, on April 25 and 26. The truck drivers enrolled for the training get the opportunity to enhance their physical, mental and financial health apart from the technical skillset. The other stops after Gandhidham are Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.
