New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed his support for the film “The Sabarmati Report”, appreciating its portrayal of the 2002 Godhra tragedy and saying that “the truth is coming out.”
In a post shared on X, PM Modi praised the film’s impact, commenting, “Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”

PM Modi’s statement was a response to a review shared by a user on X. The user called the movie a “must-watch,” highlighting its importance in revealing the truth behind the tragic incident that took place in 2002.
The reviewer commended the filmmakers for their efforts in shedding light on the Godhra train fire incident, which resulted in the deaths of 59 people, including women and children. The tragedy, which occurred on February 27, 2002, led to violent riots across several parts of Gujarat.

The Sabarmati Report, directed by Dheeraj Sarna, delves into the events surrounding the Godhra train burning and the subsequent riots in Gujarat. The film, which stars Vikrant Massey in the lead role, released on November 15.
Massey portrays a journalist who investigates the incident, aiming to uncover the facts behind the tragedy. The movie has been described as an intense portrayal of the events that shook the nation and continues to be a subject of debate.
Vikrant Massey, in an interview, opened up about the difficulties faced during the making and release of the film. He shared that being part of The Sabarmati Report has brought challenges, including threats. “I have been receiving threats. Without drawing attention to it, it is something which I am dealing with and we, as a team, collectively are dealing with,” Massey said, as reported by PTI. He added that the team’s focus remains on bringing the story to the public, despite the challenges.
