New Delhi: A major controversy has erupted after Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Saket Gokhale stopped ‘Mata Jagran’ in Vishambar Das Marg in the national capital. The organisers have claimed they have been organising the event for years.
According to reports published in Zee News, a large number of devotees, including women and children, had gathered at the pandal. However, Gokhale soon informed the police and asked the organisers to stop the programme as his mother was ‘unwell’ and that her health ‘may be affected’.

He reportedly even refused to relent on being promised that bhajans would be played at low volume. The organisers then went to meet former Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta, who assured to help them. Speaking to the media, Gupta said that the Jagran had been organised in the area for the last 25 years and there had been no issues till now.

Slamming the TMC , the TMC leader further said that the incident exposed the real face of those who are against Sanatan Dharma. “The TMC MP has stopped this Jagran here. People here had worked very hard for this event. They organised it with great religious sentiments and we support them”.
Pointing out that they have spoken to the police regarding the issue, he added, “TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee claims that those big programmes are held in West Bengal on Durga Puja. But now this face of the party has also come to the fore. Next year, the people of Delhi will teach a lesson to these people, who did not care about Sanatan Dharma and the people of the area.”
