New Delhi: A two-seater trainer aircraft, owned by Alchemist Aviation, has gone missing in Jharkhand, sparking a frantic search operation. The aircraft, which took off from Sonari aerodrome in East Singhbhum district around 11 am on Tuesday, was last traced near Nimdih in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district, officials reported.
The disappearance of the aircraft, carrying two people, has raised concerns, prompting authorities to launch a comprehensive search effort to trace the missing plane. Teams from the East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan district administrations, along with police and forest department personnel, are scouring the area around Nimdih. The search operation has also extended to the neighbouring Purulia district in West Bengal.
The East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner, Ananya Mittal, confirmed to news agency PTI that the aircraft’s last known location near Nimdih and the ongoing multi-agency search operation. The fate of the missing trainer plane remains unknown, and authorities are working tirelessly to find any sign of the aircraft or its occupants. Further updates are expected as the search operation continues.
“We have received information about a training aircraft (which took off from Jamshedpur) that went missing. The search operation has been launched in Saraikela district. Jamshedpur administration is also involved in searching. We have informed the neighbouring district Purulia, West Bengal too. Every information related to this is being verified and acted upon,” DC Saraikela Ravishankar Shukla was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
