In a tragic incident on Monday morning, a private bus ran over a sanitation worker named D. Sunita in Hyderabad’s Ramkote area. Sunita, 32, an employee of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), was cleaning the pavement when a bus owned by Ayan Institute of Medical Sciences struck her. The bus also injured four medical students aboard. Sunita suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Osmania General Hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her critical condition during treatment.

CCTV footage clearly depicts the moment of the accident, where Sunita was swept by the bus from behind while it came to a halt due to a tree. GHMC officials attributed the accident to the driver’s negligence, prompting the police to file a case against the driver. Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi of GHMC expressed condolences for Sunita’s family on social media platform X, ensuring financial aid and a job opportunity for a family member. The Zonal Commissioner has also requested immediate financial assistance for the bereaved family.
