Toyota has showcased their entries to the 2025 SEMA show which is going to take place in Los Vegas. Its one of the biggest custom shows on the planet where both manufacturers and custom shops come under one roof. Toyota has chopped off the roof of their most popular models, the 4Runner and the Land Cruiser and we absolutely love them.
Both the vehicles take on the retro vibe. The 4Runner is dubbed as the TRD Surf harking back to the initial days of the vehicle when the SUV version of the Tacoma pick-up was called the Surf and the Land Cruiser is called the Rox.
Toyota Land Cruiser Rox
The Toyota Land Cruiser Rox has had a more extensive job done to it. The vehicle now features a soft top foldable roof. The rear of of the vehicle now features a pick-up-truck like bed and Toyota has also fitted a swinging door which is only half of what the original boot would be. Additional roll bars have been added to make the chassis more rigid and there are plenty of off road mods. The doors are also partially open from below and Toyota has given it new metal bumpers, off-road tyres, a lightbar and a few other goodies.
Toyota 4Runner TRD Surf
The 4Runner TRD Surf has had its roof chopped off from the B-pillar onwards and only features two doors now. It looks like a single cab pick-up-truck but the rear second row of seats stay and are out in the open. A roll-bar has been added to maintain structural integrity and the rear space has been filled up with a Surfboard.
The design of the vehicle is very SoCal and it features a dual tone blue paint job which will fit right into the 70’s. Toyota has also given the 4Runner a custom exhaust system, some all-terrain tyres and different wheels in addition to a minor lift. There is also an LED lightbar up top.
Both the vehicles will be put out at SEMA which will commence from November 5, 2024 and will go on till November 8, 2024 at the Las Vegas convention centre.
