Tourist causes chaos, brandishes sword after car collision in Rishikesh, injures Girl

Rishikesh: Incidents of tourists causing disturbances in Uttarakhand are not uncommon. On Sunday, a similar incident occurred in Rishikesh when after a collision between two cars, a local resident was attacked. The tourist involved broke the glass of the other car and brandished a sword, threatening bystanders and injuring a girl.

Later, this matter escalated to fighting and vandalising the vehicles. Some passersby shot a video of this incident which went viral on social media. Later, Rishikesh Kotwali Police took cognizance of the video and started investigating the matter. The reason for the fight between the two parties is said to be the collision of vehicles.

The tourist had taken out sword in rage

According to available information, a car has hit another vehicle near the Chandrabhaga bridge on Laxman-Jhoola road in the Rishikesh Kotwali area. In a fit of anger, a tourist who had exited one of the cars shattered the other car’s window. As the altercation escalated, local residents surrounded the tourist. In response, the tourist retrieved a sword from his car and began brandishing it, causing people to scatter in fear.

A girl received injuries in head

During the incident, the sword struck a passing girl on the head, causing her injuries. Immediately, she was taken to the government hospital for treatment. It has been reported that the girl received five stitches. Her uncle has filed a complaint against the tourist with the police. A case has been registered, and further action is underway.

Several videos of the incident are circulating on social media

Kotwal Rajendra Singh Kholia mentioned that several videos of the incident are circulating on social media, which the police have noted. These videos have been preserved as evidence. The police are currently searching for the Sikh tourist based on the car’s registration number.

The police have begun their investigation and will take further action based on the findings. Currently, no complaints have been received regarding the dispute following the car collision.
