To manage the large crowd, the administration has set limits on devotees allowed inside the temple: 7,500 for Bharani Deepam, 11,500 for Maha Deepam, and 2,000 for darshan of Maha Deepam on the hill. Permits will be issued after physical examination, with additional online permits available (500 for Bharani Deepam and 1,100 for Maha Deepam).
Medical and security arrangements are also in place. Three medical camps with cardiologists will be set up, along with 85 medical teams. Guards will be deployed strategically, and electricity will be cut off on Mada Road during the Annamalaiyar chariot race and Maha Therottam for safety.
To ensure a smooth experience, Collector Pandian warned against overcharging in hostels and autos, threatening strict action. The temple administration and district officials are working together to make this year’s Karthigai Deepam festival a success.
