‘Time not ripe’, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on his son Udhayanidhi’s Deputy CM hopes

Chennai: Amid speculation for months that his son and Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin would be elevated to Deputy Chief Minister, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said the time was not ripe for his elevation yet.

Stalin said during a brief interaction with reporters while he was visiting his Kolathur Assembly constituency in Chennai when asked about the demand for the elevation of Udhayanidhi Stalin. When a reporter asked “There are various demands that Udhayanidhi Stalin should become the Deputy Chief Minister, will the Chief Minister consider it?” to which Stalin replied, that there might be strong demand but time was “not ripe” yet.

Speculations are rife udhayanidhi’s elevation as Deputy CM

For several weeks, there have been speculations that DMK minister Udhayanidhi Stalin would be elevated to the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Regarding this, Udhayanidhi Stalin had a few days ago told the reporters that “The Chief Minister will take the decision”.
