Three hotels in the temple town of Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh received bomb threats via email on Thursday evening, reports said.
After the initial bomb threat, police searched the three hotels with sniffer dogs and found that the threat was a hoax.
‘TN CM involved’:
The three hotels in Leela Mahal, Alipiri and Kapila Teertham areas received the email threats with subject line: ‘Pak ISI to activate improvised IEDs in listed hotels, evacuate by 11 pm! TN CM involved.”
The email was marked to Lemontree, Radissongrt and Dennisons hotels and was CCd to Regalia Hotels and Islamabad Police.
The letter accessed by media organisations read, “Due to the impact created by the recent arrest of Mr Jaffer Siddiqui of DMK in Meth case, international pressure has mounted.”
It further read “Such blats (SIC) in schools are necessary to divert attention away from MK Stalin’s family’s involvement in the case.”
The email was signed off by an individual named ‘Kalyan Al-Badr’.
FIR registered:
An FIR was registered in connection with the email and an investigation is on. Tirupati East Police Station circle inspector Srinivasulu said that they would soon trace the culprits and those behind the email will be identified.
Jaffer Sadiq, a former DMK official was arrested in February this year for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking in Tamil nadu.
