‘They want to tarnish Arvind Kejriwal’s image’: Manish Sisodia’s all-out attack at BJP

New Delhi: A day after walking out of Tihar jail, AAP leader and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia launched an all-out attack at the BJP-led Central government accusing it of hatching a conspiracy to tarnish Chief Minister and party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

Sisodia walked out of jail on Friday evening hours after the Supreme Court granted him bail in corruption and money laundering cases linked to the alleged excise policy “scam”. He was released from Tihar jail after 17 months.

Addressing AAP works at party headquarters, Sisodia said,  “I have come (out of jail) to do hard work, not to go on a vacation. From today and right now, we have to start preparing (for Delhi Assembly polls). I want to convey this to every party worker and people of Delhi, Haryana and the nation that everyone has to vote against dictatorship. The fight against dictatorship is not only AAP’s or Opposition’s, but it is the fight of people of India.”

Describing Kejriwal as a “symbol of honesty”, the AAP leader alleged that conspiracies are being hatched to defame his work. “We are just horses of a chariot but our real ‘saarthi’ is in jail, he will come out soon,” he added, referring to the AAP supremo.

He further said that the whole conspiracy of ED-CBI has been hatched to dent the reputation of the Delhi CM. “From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, if you ask people on the road who is Arvind Kejriwal, then they will say that he is the one who has been doing great work in Delhi with honesty. Kejriwal’s name has become an example of honesty in the country. BJP has failed to set an example of honest work in any state. They (BJP) are hatching all this conspiracy just to tarnish his (Arvind Kejriwal) image,” he said.

Hailing the Supreme Court’s verdict of granting him bail, Sisodia said that the top court used power of Constitution to trample dictatorship. “I was hoping to get justice in 7-8 months but it took 17 months. Truth triumphed in the end,” he added.
