New Delhi: Hitting out at BJP, AAP leader and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday made a big claim, stating that there were plans to arrest Chief Minister Atishi and other senior AAP leaders in “fake cases”, ahead of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections.
He claimed that AAP’s two flagship programmes — Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana — have unsettled BJP, adding that “They have planned to arrest Atishi ji in the next few days by framing a fake case. Before that, raids will be carried out on senior AAP leaders.”
Taking to X, he said: “I will hold a press conference on this today at 12 o’clock.”

This month, the AAP government rolled out the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana, providing eligible women over 18 a financial aid of Rs 1,000 per month, which will later be upped to Rs 2,100. But the funds will be distributed only after the polls. Besides, the Sanjeevani Yojana assures free healthcare to elderly citizens at both private and government hospitals.
In response, the BJP, has alleged that the Delhi government was making hollow poll promises and misleading the public. Bansuri Swaraj, a BJP MP from New Delhi, accused Kejriwal of deceiving people. Swaraj also accused the AAP leader of misleading citizens, alleging that his team was collecting personal data from women and senior citizens under the guise of these schemes. She cautioned Delhi residents not to fall for such “tricks” and advised them not to share their personal information with anyone.
