‘There is no evidence and history of Lord Ram’s existence’ says Tamil Nadu Minister Sivashankar

Ariyalur: Tamil Nadu Minister SS Sivashankar’s speech at the state government event in Tamil Nadu’s Ariyalur district on Friday, sparked a controversy after he questioned the historical evidence of Lord Ram

Speaking at the birth anniversary event of great Chola Emperor Rajendra Chola I, Tamil Nadu Transport Minister Sivashankar , stated that “While some claim Lord Rama has a 3,000-year history, there is no historical evidence for Lord Rama. In contrast, we have temples, inscriptions, and copper plates as evidence from the Rajendra Chola era.”

He warned that failing to celebrate Rajendra Chola could lead to the imposition of figures without historical basis on society.

“It is customary to celebrate some kind of festival every year for our parents and ancestors in our family. In that way, we must hold a ceremony and celebrate the grandfather Rajendra Chola who made this land proud. Rama is said to have a history of 3000 years. But there is no proof, no history of Rama’s existence. But as a testimony to the rule of our king Rajendra Chola, we still have the temples and ponds created by him. If we don’t celebrate people like Rajendran, people without history will hang on our heads. Those who talk about Rama only refer to him as an avatar.Incarnation means one cannot be born, if one is born as God one cannot be an avatar, the DMK Minister and he added that they are doing all this to seduce us hide our eloquence and highlight a different history.

DMK government celebrated great Emperor Rajendra Chola’s birthday

The Tamil Nadu government led by the DMK celebrated the birth anniversary Chola King Rarajendra Chola, titled as “Aadi Tiruvadhirai”at Gangaikonda Cholapuram Pragatheeswarar Temple located near Jayangkondam in Ariyalur district. As a local holiday has been observed in Ariyalur district today, Tamil Nadu Transport Minister Sivashankar attended the function held at Pragatheeswarar Temple and delivered a special speech.

Rajendra I, often referred to as Rajendra the Great, Gangaikonda Cholan, and Kadaram Kondan, was a Chola Emperor who reigned from 1014 and 1044 CE.
