Thane: In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old man lost his life after his bike was hit by a speeding car in Thane. The driver of the car fled from the spot after hitting the bike. An FIR has been filed under the relevant section of the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicle Act. The police have issued a lookout notice for the accused.
Sharing further details, the police said that the victim had been identified as Darshan Hegde. A second-year BSc student, the deceased was on his way to buy food after leaving the office when the incident took place. The incident took place at around 1:45 AM on Monday.
The victim was declared dead
At the time of the incident, the victim was reportedly riding in the opposite direction when the car hit him. A passer-by rushed to the scene soon after the accident and found the biker lying with injuries. He was immediately shifted to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
Efforts on to catch the accused
Speaking about the incident, Police Inspector Abhay Mahajan from Naupada Police Station said that CCTV footage from the nearby area is being investigated to obtain more details about the case. After getting the footage of the vehicle’s number, the police will send it to the Regional Transport Officer for further details, and the accused will be nabbed soon, he added.

Both of them had later died in the accident. In Mumbai, the son of a Shiv Sena leader crushed a woman with his BMW car, due to which she died.
