New Delhi: Ahead of the second Test match against New Zealand starting from October 24, Team India reached Pune amidst tight security on Monday evening. The Rohit Sharma-led side would be keen on delivering a match-winning performance in the second Test to keep the three-game series alive and kicking after losing the series opener a few days back.
The hosts went down in the first Test match against the Kiwis by 8 wickets in Bengaluru and were subjected to heavy criticism post that. Bundling out for just 46 runs in the first innings, the Indian side came back strongly in the second with a brilliant effort from almost all the batters but it did not prove to be enough as they succumbed in front of the New Zealand side which were much better in the game.

Skipper Rohit Sharma, star batter Virat Kohli, young sensation Sarfaraz Khan and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant stood tall in the second innings playing remarkably well with the bat as India posted a score of 400-plus. But their efforts went in vain as the Kiwis chased the required score of over 100 runs with ease on the final day of the match, which just saw four days of play with the first day being washed out.
