New Delhi: Amid frequent bomb threats in schools in the national capital that triggered panic, the Delhi Police trained teachers and school staff on how to deal with with the crisis. The police had organised a seminar in coordination with the Education Department for teachers of schools. The training session also covered awareness regarding cybercrimes.
.According to eputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam , the seminar was all about on how to stay calm, react and coordinate with police whenever there is a bomb threat in schools. Since last 10 days several schools in Delhi received hoax bomb threats that led to search operations.
‘Initiative an extension of Delhi LG’s Samvaad programme’
“This initiative, an extension of the Delhi LG’s Samvaad program, aimed to sensitize educators about critical issues such as bomb threats, cyber hygiene (CyGene), and drug abuse prevention,” news agency PTI quoted him as saying further. He added that a total of 247 teachers from different schools across the Trans Yamuna area of Delhi attended the event. DCP Sanjay Sain from Crime Branch also attended the event.
Special sessions included at the event
The event include the special sessions which addressed bomb threat response protocols, sharing knowledge with teachers on how to to manage evacuation procedures during any kind of emergencies. The police further said that prevention of substance abuse were discussed. The role of teachers in identifying warning signs and supporting students in need were also discussed, it added. A detailed presentation on cyber hygiene (CyGene) was also presented by ACP Prabhat Sinha (retd), an expert in cybercrime .
