Chennai: At a ceremony honoring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in Kovilpatti, Thoothukudi district, DMK MP Kanimozhi raised questions about a potential alliance between the DMK and BJP. This comes after AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami alleged a secret alliance between the two parties following a joint event launching a commemorative coin for former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi recently in Chennai.
Kanimozhi defends DMK’s stance
Kanimozhi emphasized that Chief Minister Stalin has consistently opposed the BJP and is the first to raise his voice against them. She pointed out that the union government alone can release currency, and the presence of some BJP leaders at the event does not indicate a secret alliance. Kanimozhi praised Union Minister Rajnath Singh for openly praising President Karunanidhi but questioned whether the BJP’s refusal to fund Tamil Nadu is an attempt to silence Stalin’s opposition.
Will DMK compromise with BJP?
Kanimozhi asked whether the DMK would compromise with the BJP, which she believes is trying to strangle Stalin’s voice and opposition. She highlighted Stalin’s commitment to fighting for the rights of Tamils and oppressed communities, even taking cases to the Supreme Court.
