Tirunelveli: A chilling incident of caste-based violence has rocked Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, after a 17-year-old Scheduled Caste boy was brutally attacked by a gang belonging to a dominant caste in Melappattam village.
The attack unfolded when the boy questioned the gang members for reckless driving near his house. Enraged, the gang broke into his home and assaulted him with a machete and beer bottle, leaving him severely injured.

Palayamkottai Taluk Police promptly arrested three suspects – Muthukumar, Lakshmanan, and Thanga Isakki – and registered cases under the Prevention of Atrocities Act, Juvenile Justice Act, and attempt to murder.
