Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday mourned the demise of senior BJP leader and Nagrota MLA Devender Singh Rana, saying the “terrible news isn’t really sinking in” and remembered the great work they did together.
Rana, the brother of Union minister Jitendra Singh, passed away at the age of 59 at a hospital in Haryana’s Faridabad on Thursday night. He is survived by his wife Gunjan and two daughters Devyanim Ketki and son Adhiraj.

BJP’s Ravinder Raina breaks down while remembering Rana
Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina bid an emotional farewell to his party leader as he held back tears while referring to the late MLA as a “very hard-working leader of the BJP”.
He said the entire Jammu and Kashmir is mourning Devender Singh Rana’s death as he worked for every section of the society.

Rana, a former businessman who built a multi-crore enterprise from the ground up before entering politics, has been a prominent advocate for Jammu’s Dogra community.
Recently, he was re-elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, representing the Nagrota constituency in the Jammu district, securing the seat for a second consecutive term.
