New Delhi: Spiritual leaders and the administration have called on devotees to take care of their security and asked them not to insist on taking the holy dip only at the Sangam Ghat. They pointed out the entire Mela arena is pious and they can take bath at any of the ghats where Ganga or Yamuna is flowing.
‘Don’t leave your camps, ensure security’: Swami Rambhadracharya
Spiritual leader Swami Rambhadracharya has said, “I appeal to all the devotees that because a large crowd has gathered in Prayagraj today, they should not insist on taking a holy dip only at the Sangam Ghat. As of now, they should not leave their camps and look for their security and the security of others as well.” He added that all the Akharas should also call off the ‘Amrit Snan’ in view of the surging crowd, while praying for the well-being of all.

On the stampede in the Maha Kumbh area, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti says, “This is a sad incident. Whatever happened is sad and tragic. Akhara Parishad has decided to cancel their Amrit Snan keeping in mind the public interest… The number of devotees gathered is more than anticipated…around 10-12 crore…I appeal to the people that the entire Mela Kshetra is Kumbh, hence they may take a bath at any ghat and not just the Triveni Ghat…” She pointed out that the entire Mela area is Kumbh…”
She underlined: “Triveni hi pooray Sangam ko bolte hain…Sangam shetra hi Triveni hai. Kahin kisi ghat mein snan karen.” The Sadhvi said all the camps and ashrams are bursting at the seams and the crowd is massive. She also wished speedy recovery of those injured.
‘Entire Ganga and Yamuna are ‘Amrit’ right now’: Devkinandan Thakur
Spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur said, “… I did not go to the Sangam because the size of the crowds over there is massive… I appeal to the people not to insist on taking a bath at the Sangam Ghat only. The entire Ganga and Yamuna rivers are ‘Amrit’ right now…Whereever you take bath right now, you will get blessings, so it is important to take holy dip only in Sangam.” He appealed all devotees to “be careful” and take care of their security.

On Tuesday, Senior Superintendent of Police, Prayagraj, Rajesh Dwivedi, had appealed to devotees to avoid rumours, remain alert, and seek assistance from the police in case of any issues. The administration had shared the following do’s and don’ts as well.
What to do:
Bathe at the ghat you arrive at, as all ghats are part of Sangam.
Use designated lanes to reach the Sangam Ghats.
Remain in your designated lane while bathing.
Proceed directly to the parking area after bathing and darshan.
Follow your lane while visiting temples.
Seek help from the police for any issues.
Traffic police are ready to assist you at all times.
Visit the nearest sector hospital in case of health concerns.
Maintain patience at barricades and pontoon bridges; avoid rushing or pushing.
Use eco-friendly utensils made of paper, jute, or clay.
What not to do:
Avoid gathering in large crowds at a single spot.
Ensure that incoming and outgoing devotees do not intersect.
Refrain from believing or spreading rumours.
Do not trust misleading information on social media.
Avoid rushing during temple visits.
Do not obstruct pathways or hold areas.
Do not fall prey to misinformation regarding arrangements.
Avoid forwarding any false or misleading news.
Avoid haste while bathing.
