New Delhi: Opposing the bail plea of Bibhav Kumar, a former aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in the case of the attack against Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, the Delhi Police has told the Supreme Court that the incident has a grave impact on the minds of the public and any decision in the case will have a cascading impact on the minds of the general public.
Complainant, Swati Maliwal, must be heard in the case: Delhi Police
In a filing before the Supreme Court, the Delhi Police has also urged the Supreme Court that the complainant, Swati Maliwal, must be heard in the case as it will have a bearing on her and her family’s well being.
Probing a criminal conspiracy angle also on attack on Maliwal: Delhi Police
The Delhi police in its affidavit filed before the Supreme court has also informed the court that they are probing a criminal conspiracy angle also on the attack of Maliwal, as she has in her additional statement said that the manner in which the leader and workers of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came out in support of Bibhav Kumar and against a MP of their own party shows that there is a larger conspiracy behind the attack.

The Delhi police has also submitted to the court that attempts are being made by Bibhav Kumar to portray Maliwal in a negative light.
The affidavit by the Delhi Police comes in response to bail petition filed by Bibhav Kumar seeking bail from the Supreme Court.
Delhi High Court last month rejected Bibhav Kumar’s bail plea
Last Month in July, the Delhi High Court had rejected the bail plea of Bibhav Kumar on the ground that he is an influential person and it cannot be ruled out that if granted bail Kumar can influence witnesses and also tamper with evidence.
The case against Bibhav Kumar is that he physically assaulted Swati Maliwal on May 13 this year when she had gone to meet the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, at his residence.
Bibhav was arrested by Delhi Police, which is probing the case, five days after the incident and since then Bibhav Kumar has been in jail.
