The Tesla Roadster was once one of the most highly anticipated vehicles of 2020 and then it didn’t happen because a world Pandemic happened and it then become one of the most highly anticipated vehicle of 2024 and it did not happen again and honestly we are not surprised.
Elon Musk says that they are still working on the Roadster but there is no official timeline for the vehicle. This is not the first time that Elon has overpromised and underdelivered but we are glad that he is taking things slow with the flagship vehicle of the company and we hope that it is everything and more than he promised.
The Roadster might also get an all new design which is more in line with their recent products and he also claimed on X that they have “radically increased the design goals” of the vehicle and the final form of the vehicle will be shown next year. he also said that “it has to come behind things that have a more serious impact on the good of the world”.
All this is good but Elon recently also claimed that they have binned the plans of making a more affordable Tesla which would have costed around $25,000 and slotted below the Model 3. This was because Elon believes that it is a “Silly” and “Pointless” idea to have a more affordable Tesla and they are much better working on the CyberCab which is another dwindling project whose reality is far fetched it seems.
The people who have held their deposits for the Roadsters are some patient human beings because the vehicle has been delayed time and time again and we still have no final launch or production date. With how things are turning out and with what is happening currently in the EV world, we are not sure if the Roadster would be anymore relevant if it is delayed a few more years.
