“The student from Gujarat who passed the NEET exam with 98% marks, could not even score 33 marks in the very easy 12th class exam, it’s the classic example that exposed the malpractices in the NEET exam,” Ramadoss said in a statement without revealing the identity of the student.

The Gujarat student allegedly didn’t pass the easy exam
The said student failed the Class 12 general examination conducted by the Gujarat State Board of Education last March, scoring 31 marks in Chemistry and 21 in Physics. Subsequently, the student re-wrote the supplementary exams conducted last month and passed with exactly 33 marks in Chemistry. However, the student, who scored only 22 marks in Physics, failed again for the second time. Comparatively, NEET is considered tougher than the state syllabus exams. But that student who secured 98% marks in the tough NEET exam. With this, one can understand that a student who could not even score 33 marks in the very easy 12th exam, secured 98% in NEET, the level of malpractices in NEET, Ramadoss said.
He highlighted that this incident has confirmed the allegations of many irregularities in the NEET exam including question paper leakage and copying. This has further undermined the credibility of the NEET exam.
“NEET system should be abolished”
Demanding the central government to abolish the NEET, the PMK leader said “For many years, the Pattali Makkal Party has been insisting that the NEET exam is not a valid benchmark to measure the ability of students and only helps to create coaching centers and earn crores of money. It is proven again by this incident. Therefore, I urged the central government to cancel the unreliable NEET exam and conduct admissions of medical students based on the 12th general examination marks.”
