Dehradun: The weather changed again in Uttarakhand today. Snowfall has started once again in the high-altitude areas of Uttarakhand, causing an increase in cold in the lower areas as well. Today, on Thursday, rain has started at many places across the state, including Dehradun, since morning.

Due to fog along with rain in the plains, the temperature has also dropped. Additionally, cold winds have intensified the cold further.

A paradise-like view in Harshil, Auli, and Chakrata

The beautiful valleys of Auli have been covered in snow since last night. Tourists who arrived in Auli enjoyed the heavy snowfall, although the closed roads due to snow caused some commuting troubles. The weather changed in Chamoli district late Thursday night, and when people woke up in the morning, the valleys were covered in white snow all around. Apart from the Char Dham shrines, heavy snowfall is also occurring in the Harshil valley, bringing smiles to the faces of farmers.

Snowfall is occurring in and around Yamunotri Dham

Snowfall has also made the weather pleasant in the Yamuna valley. Snowfall is occurring in and around Yamunotri Dham. The valleys of Harshil appeared drenched in snow as well. The fifth snowfall of the season occurred in the high-altitude areas of Chakrata, known as the king of mountains. Snowfall started at 2 a.m. on Thursday night and continues intermittently today.

Prediction for snowfall on 16-17 Jan

The weather department has already warned about rain and snowfall, indicating that the weather in Uttarakhand will change once again. IMD forecasted the possibility of rain in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Almora, and Udham Singh Nagar districts of the state.

Dr. Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Department, has predicted rain and snowfall on January 16 and 17. In such a situation, severe cold is certain for two days. The campaigning for the municipal elections is also going on in the state. In such a situation, severe cold has increased the difficulties of the candidates and workers. Fog is also increasing difficulties in the plains, while in the mountains, people are facing a lot of trouble due to the severe cold. It is becoming difficult for people to work without a bonfire.
