Skoda is still selling the new generation version of the Kodiaq in the Indian market while internationally, everyone has already gotten the new generation model. Skoda has also unveiled the Kodiaq vRS abroad, which is the hottest version of the SUV and will appeal to the more enthusiastic kind.
Lets start from the exterior first. It gets subtle details telling that it is a vRS model. It gets blacked out bits, and a sportier bodykit, with sporty looking alloy wheels and small “vRS” badging hinting towards the spiciness that lies underneath. It also gets a dual-exhaust setup which is pretty cool for a car in 2024 I guess.
In terms of the interior, its the usual vRS treatment. There are all black interiors with red accents all around. It also gets bucket seats up front which look quite crazy for a family SUV honestly. Other details include stainless steel pedals, black headliner, a three spoke steering wheel, red contract stitching and the infotainment also has a RS-specific animation.
The talking point about the vRS is the engine. It gets the same 2.0L EA888 engine that we have seen in the Golf GTI but in this it makes around 261 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. This is around a 20 bhp and 30 Nm of increase when compared to the previous version.
Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and Skoda says that it will do 0-100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds and they will reach a top speed of 232 kmph.
The vRS will be the range topping model and will be slotted above the Sportline variant which is basically a visual kit over the regular Kodiaq. Other notable features include a matric LED headlights, drive modes, off-road modes, a Canton premium sound system and adjustable dampers as well.
Its currently unclear if the vehicle will come to the Indian market, but we are first expecting the entry of the regular Kodiaq first which will make its Indian debut sometime next year.
