Bengaluru: Speculation is swirling on social media about the possible marriage of BJP youth leader and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya. Reports suggest that he is likely to tie the knot with Sivasri Skandaprasad, a singer and Bharatanatyam artiste.
However, Tejasvi Surya has not yet confirmed these claims.
Who is Sivasri Skandaprasad?
Sivasri Skandaprasad is a Chennai-based musician born on August 1, 1996. She is the daughter of Seerkazhi Sri J Skandaprasad, a renowned Mridangam virtuoso, who introduced her to the world of music, The Week reported. Sivasri specialises in Carnatic music but is also known for her versatility as a Bharatanatyam dancer, painter, and Bhagavath.
Her artistic journey extends beyond music and dance. Sivasri made her cinematic debut in Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1, directed by Mani Ratnam, where she sang Helhe Neenu alongside maestro A.R. Rahman.
Sivasri is the founder of ‘Ahuti,’ a platform dedicated to promoting and preserving 64 Indian art forms. According to the Ahuti website, she pursued a B.Tech in Bio-Engineering from SASTRA University, Thanjavur, driven by her interest in the intersection of engineering and biology. She holds an MA in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras and is currently pursuing an MA in Sanskrit at The Madras Sanskrit College.
Her personal website describes her as “a young artist who stands tall by her unflinching conviction in everything that Sanatana Dharma represents.”
Sivasri first gained national attention when Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised her rendition of the Kannada devotional song Poojisalende Hoogala Thande.
