New Delhi: The recent terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday has left the globe in shock. But more than anything, the loss of hope can be sensed among the near and dear ones of the 26 people who were killed in the militant firing at the Baisaran meadow.
The families of the deceased are enduring the toughest part of their lives, which are marred with grief, sorrow, indelible scars, and a moment of hopelessness. Shubham Dwivedi from Kanpur was among the civilians killed in the heinous act carried out by the members of The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a Pakistan-based terror group.
Shubham, a 31-year-old businessman, married his wife Aishanya Dwivedi on February 12, 2025, which is just two months ago. The couple were on a vacation period in Pahalgam. However, the trip turned out to be ordeal for the newly-married pair.
According to Shubham’s cousin Saurabh, in his interaction with news agency ANI, Shubham was shot in the head by the terrorist group after the individuals were allegedly asked their names. Aishanya informed about the horrific incident to their uncle. The couple were going on a horseback at the time terrorists opened the firing.
“This was their second trip after the wedding, and this time, they chose to travel with their families,” Saurabh was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
Shubham used to manage his family’s cement business.
Dinesh Mirania from Raipur was in Kashmir to celebrate his wedding anniversary with wife Neha and children. Dinesh was shot dead a day after the family visited the Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, which over 208 kilometres away from Pahalgam, as narrated by a friend of the deceased.
