New Delhi: A new revelation has been made in the investigation of former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash’s murder case. The police has learnt that his wife Pallavi threw chilli powder on his face before he was stabbed to death. Pallavi has been detained by the police after emerging as a key suspect in the murder case. Moreover, their daughter Kriti has also been detained.
Sources, as mentioned in a report by news agency PTI, claimed that heated exchange of words took place between Prakash and Pallavi before the latter threw chilli powder on her spouse’s face. Just when he felt relief from the burning sensation, Pallavi stabbed him with a knife multiple times, resulting in his death on the spot.
Prakash’s body was found in a pool of blood at the ground floor of his three-storeyed house in the HSR Layout area of Bengaluru on Sunday.
Reports suggest that Pallavi did a video call to a friend to inform about the crime. “I have killed the monster,” sources claimed.
It is understood that a property dispute was involved to a land in Dandeli in Karnataka. The murder was a result of as series of run-ins between the pair.
Pallavi is said to have approached the HSR Layout police station to lodge a complaint against the former DGP but the staff didn’t accepted the request. It resulted into Pallavi staging a sit-in protest (Dharna) in front of the police station.
It’s also learnt that Pallavi was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was under medication too. The retired IPS officer was a native of Champaran, Bihar, and held a Master’s degree in Geology. Prakash was appointed Director General of Police on March 1, 2015.
