New Delhi: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is currently one of the most important leaders in Maharashtra’s politics. The political developments revolving around Uddhav Thackeray over the past five years have been unprecedented.
After the division in the Shiv Sena party under Uddhav Thackeray’s leadership, the state is all set to hold its Assembly elections for the first time. In the previous Lok Sabha elections, the Mahayuti faced a huge setback in Maharashtra, while the Congress achieved most of the success compared to the Thackeray faction. Now, the Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena is gearing up for the Assembly elections, having announced the first list of candidates. This list includes a total of 65 candidates.
Kedar Dighe to contest from Kopri-Pachpakadi constituency
The Thackeray group has fielded Kedar Dighe as its candidate from the Kopri-Pachpakadi constituency against Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In the Thane constituency, which is considered Shinde’s bastion, former MP Rajan Vichare has been nominated. Besides, Unmesh Patil, a former MP, has been fielded as the candidate from Chalisgaon.
According to the list released by the Thackeray faction, Unmesh Patil has been declared as the candidate from Chalisgaon. In Pachora, the Thackeray faction has nominated Vaishali Surve, the cousin of Shinde faction MLA Kishor Appa Patil, to contest against him. The contest here will be keenly watched. In Balapur, Nitin Deshmukh has been given another chance. Deshmukh had earlier gone to Surat with Shinde faction MLAs but came back to the Thackeray faction later.
In the Kalmanuri constituency, Dr Santosh Tarfe has been fielded against Santosh Bangar of the Shinde faction. Rahul Patil has been nominated from Parbhani. In the Kannad constituency, Uday Singh Rajput has been nominated as the candidate. Suresh Bankar will fight against Minister Abdul Sattar in the Sillod constituency. In the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar West constituency, Raju Shinde has been nominated by the Thackeray faction against Shinde faction leader Sanjay Shirsat. Besides, Kishanchand Tanwani has been announced as the candidate from Sambhajinagar Medium.
In Nandgaon, Ganesh Dhatrak has fielded as the candidate against Shinde faction’s Suhas Kande. Advay Hire has been nominated from Malegaon Outer. Vasant Gite has been announced as the candidate from Nashik Medium, while Sudhakar Badgujar has been nominated from Nashik West. Subhash Bhoi has been announced as the candidate from Kalyan Rural.
