The game takes place daily at the Shillong Polo Stadium and is governed by the Meghalaya Amusement and Betting Tax Act. Winners are determined by the number of arrows, or “teers,” that successfully hit the target.
Tickets for the lottery can be purchased at 5,000 designated counters spread across 11 districts in Meghalaya. Each participant starts with 50 arrows, aiming to hit 30 in the first round and 20 in the second. The player who successfully hits the most arrows is declared the winner. Meghalaya is one of 13 Indian states where lottery games are permitted, along with states like Goa, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Nagaland, and Manipur.
