New Delhi: Looking to prove his innocence in the court of law, Actor Siddique who has been accused in a sexual assault case has claimed in the Supreme Court that he is being followed by some unidentified police officers. He stated that this is happening with the knowledge of top police officers.
Siddique submitted an additional affidavit on Monday, ahead of the Supreme Court considering his anticipatory bail plea today. The actor mentioned in the affidavit filed in the apex court that unidentified individuals are following him and his family in private vehicles. He had reported this to the police control room and had filed the complaint with the DGP. He has stated in his affidavit that these individuals are acting as per the orders of the senior cops in the state. However, cops are not ready to take his statements into account. As per police team, the actor is not ready to handover the mobile that was used in the days following the incident. Sources also say that Siddique has not provided any reply to the police when asked about the incident.
The state government, on the other hand, in a strongly worded affidavit filed in the Supreme Court earlier, had made serious allegations against Siddique. The government stated that ‘before glorifying Siddique as a hero, his wrongdoings must be exposed. The affidavit had mentioned that there may come a time when the future generations will idolise the actor and therefore his true character must be bought to light so that he is being exposed. The state government affidavit also referred to the cases of Donald Trump and Harvey Weinstein who had to face the court of law even after the allegations were raised 10 years after the incident took place.
Two weeks ago the Supreme court had granted bail to actor Siddique and has instructed the actor to appear before the investigation agencies whenever he was supposed to without fail. The Kerala government is looking to inform the court that the actor is not cooperating with the probe and hence to cancel his bail so that the actor can be questioned under police custody.
