New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the 150th Foundation Day of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi by praising its scientific legacy and unveiling a commemorative coin alongside a vision document, Vision 2047.
“Today, we are celebrating 150 years of IMD. These years reflect not just the journey of India’s weather department but also the evolution of advanced science and technology in the country,” said PM Modi.
Highlighting IMD’s contributions, he stated, “In these 150 years, IMD has served crores of Indians and stands as a symbol of India’s scientific progress.”
During the event, a postage stamp was also released to honour IMD’s achievements.
