SC stops Tamil Nadu police from taking coercive actions against YouTuber ‘Savukku’ Shankar

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed coercive actions in the 17 FIRs filed by Tamil Nadu police against Youtuber Savukku Shankar. In the writ petition filed by popular YouTuber Savukku Shankar seeking the cancellation of all 17 cases filed against him, the Supreme Court ordered an interim stay on the investigation in all the cases registered; An appeal against the Goondas Act has also been allowed.

YouTuber ‘Savukku’ Shankar was slapped with the Goondas Act once again on Tuesday, August 13, in connection with the possession of 500 grams of ganja in May this year.
