New Delhi: The lavish lifestyle of Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, has come under scrutiny after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a series of raids on multiple locations linked to him.
These raids, part of a broader investigation into alleged financial irregularities at the state-run hospital, have revealed a stunning picture of opulence, raising further questions about Ghosh’s alleged corruption.
The ED’s focus has been on a sprawling farm house-cum-bungalow, dubbed “Sangeeta Sandip Villa,” located in Madhya Narayanpur, Canning. This multi-crore property, allegedly built by Ghosh three years ago, has been identified as a frequent retreat for him and his family, News18 reported.
The ED’s investigation has also extended to several other properties linked to Ghosh, including his residence in Beliaghata, two apartments owned by his relatives in Milan Palli, and his in-laws’ house in Baidyabati.
During the raids, ED officials detained Prasun Chattopadhyay, an aide of Ghosh, who was found at his residence in Subhasgram. The ED’s investigation has been spurred by the CBI’s arrest of Ghosh and three associates on September 3 for alleged financial misconduct at RG Kar Hospital.
The investigation into financial irregularities at RG Kar Hospital began following the tragic rape and murder of a trainee doctor in August 2023.
