New Delhi: Sameer Khan, son-in-law of Nawab Malik, a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), has passed away. The former Maharashtra Minister expressed his condolences through a social media post on Sunday.
“My son-in-law, Sameer Khan, has passed away. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah. As we mourn this loss, all my scheduled (engagements) for the next two days are postponed. Thank you for your understanding, Please keep him in your prayers,” the NCP-Ajit Pawar candidate from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar Assembly seat in Maharashtra said in a post on X.
Sameer Khan had been receiving treatment at a Mumbai hospital for more than a month following a car accident in Kurla on September 17.
According to police reports, the incident occurred as Nawab Malik’s daughter and Sameer Khan were returning from a routine checkup at the hospital. While they were getting into the vehicle, the driver accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the car to crash into a wall. As a result of the accident, Sameer sustained severe head injuries and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a nearby hospital for treatment, the police said.
