Srinagar: National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Abdullah on Sunday alleged that there is collusion between Indian Army soldiers and terrorists. Abdullah raised the question of how terrorists are able to infiltrate despite heavy deployment on the borders.
Farooq Abdullah said, “The army is in cahoots with the enemy. This is the reason why terrorists are able to infiltrate despite heavy deployment. There is a massive military deployment on our borders, which is arguably the largest deployment in the world. Yet, despite such a massive presence, terrorists are infiltrating into Indian territory. Sab mile huye hai (they are all involved).”
Farooq Abdullah’s statement comes amid Anantnag tension
Farooq Abdullah’s reaction came just a day after two Indian Army soldiers and a civilian were killed in a shootout between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
On the other hand, Kashmir Tigers, a front organisation of Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), has claimed responsibility for the firing between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Farooq Abdullah is famous for making such statements: BJP leader
Former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Dr Nirmal Singh said, “Dr Farooq Abdullah is already famous for making such statements. He is upset due to the defeat of his son in the Lok Sabha elections.”
On Saturday, Abdullah said, “The atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir is better than in 1996. If elections could be held then, why not this time?” He added, “The Centre will have to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir before holding elections.”
Responding to a question on whether the Congress and PDP are exploring the possibility of an alliance in Jammu and Kashmir after NC ruled out any pre-poll alliance, Abdullah said, “It is their decision what they want to do, and NC has no say in it. It is clear that NC will not make any alliance in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Meanwhile, the entire team of the Election Commission on Friday visited various areas of Jammu and Kashmir. After the visit, the Election Commission team said they were very excited by the way people had stood in line and voted in the Lok Sabha elections. They expressed hope that assembly elections will be held soon in Jammu and Kashmir. They reviewed the security along with the Chief Secretary as well as police officials.
