Bulandshahr: In a tragic incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr on Monday night, the roof of a house collapsed due to a cylinder explosion in Ashapuri Colony, within the Secunderabad police station area. Five family members lost their lives after being buried under the debris.
That apart, Concerns are growing that numerous individuals may be trapped under the rubble. On-site, top officials from both the police and administration are managing the rescue efforts. Reports indicate that among those believed to be buried in the debris are women and children. Currently, police and fire brigade teams are engaged in the rescue efforts with the help of the locals.
Cylinder blast destroys house
According to information, a cylinder suddenly exploded in a house on Gulavathi Road in Ashapuri Colony on Monday night. The explosion caused the entire house to collapse, trapping those inside under the rubble. Neighbours immediately alerted the Secunderabad police station and upon receiving the information, a police team, along with the fire brigade, rushed to the scene to initiate the rescue operation with the help of local volunteers.
Due to the severity of the incident, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), the City Superintendent of Police (SP City), and the Circle Officer (CO) also arrived quickly to expedite the rescue efforts. A JCB machine was summoned to the site, and work to remove the debris commenced swiftly. So far, police have recovered five bodies from the rubble, and there is a strong possibility that many more people remain trapped beneath the debris, with reports indicating that women and children are among them.
DM oversees rescue efforts
Recognising the seriousness of the situation, Bulandshahr District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh also arrived at the scene. He gathered information about the incident from the police and administrative officials present and instructed them to complete the rescue operation as quickly as possible. District Magistrate Singh said that efforts are ongoing to rescue those buried under the debris.
