New Delhi: Rohan Mirchandani, co-founder of the Greek yogurt maker Epigamia, has died of a heart attack at the age of 42. An official statement was issued by Drums Food International, confirming the death of co-founder Rohan Mirchandani. Rohan founded Drums Food in 2013 alongside his two colleagues.

Mirchandani is an alumnus of The Wharton School and NYU Stern School of Business. He co-founded Drums Food with Ankur Goyal (currently the COO) and Uday Thakkar (currently the director). He launched the flavoured Greek yogurt brand in India and played a key role in making it popular in the market. Positioned as a health-conscious snack brand, Epigamia expanded its product range to include artisanal curd, smoothies, milkshakes, plant-based yogurts, and lactose-free curd.
Initially, the company started with Hoki-Poki ice cream. In 2015, he launched the Greek yogurt brand Epigamia, which became extremely popular. Epigamia also produces milkshakes and ice cream in addition to yogurt. Rohan got huge wealth through the company, which led many to wonder who will manage his wealth now.
Deepika’s Epigamia stake drops slightly
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is a strategic partner and brand ambassador for Epigamia. Apart from acting, Deepika also earns from business, with Epigamia being one of her investments. Mirchandani never publicly disclosed the amount of wealth he had or who would inherit it after his passing.
According to Rohan’s pass data, he had not acquired any part of his holding. Since the last funding round, his share in the company had dropped from 4.8 per cent pre-funding to about 4.7 per cent as of December 2023. Mirchandani was the largest shareholder among the founding members. According to official data, Ganesh Krishnamurthy currently holds 1 per cent of the shares, Uday Thakkar holds 0.4 per cent, Rahul Jain holds 0.4 per cent and Milap Shah holds 0.3 per cent.
