Road rage in Bengaluru: ‘Drunk’ biker attacks couple with baby inside their car, video goes viral

New Delhi: In a shocking road rage incident that has come to light in Bengaluru, an infuriated motorcyclist attacked a couple with a baby inside their car. The incident occurred near Doddakannalli on Sarjapur Road at 10.30pm on Monday.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, a man — the biker — can be seen shouting at and abusing a couple inside a car and smashing the car’s windscreen. He continues his act despite the couple screaming that a baby is in their vehicle.

A post on X by Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru, shared a video of what happened on the busy road. It said, “What’s happening on Sarjapur Road? A family in car is being attacked by bike borne assailants! Please help! The incident happened at 10:30pm at street 1522, Doddakannelli Junction! The couple just reached police station!”

In another post, it said, “A drunk biker, reportedly a bouncer at a Koramangala pub, crashed into a family’s car, then aggressively confronted them, questioning why they applied the brakes. The incident escalated as he shattered the car’s windshield, injuring a 7-month-old child inside. The latter part of the incident was captured on video. The attacker remains in custody and is now facing charges of attempted murder.”

In the video, it can seen that the driver of the car is sitting and directing the camera of his mobile phone at an angry biker who is standing outside. After this, the biker picks up a stone apparently to smash the car with it. Then, he shouts at the man at the wheel to open the door. He breaks a windscreen wiper and hits the windscreen with the broken wiper. People try to stop him but in vain. Screams of the couple can be heard. The driver shouts at the man to stop as there’s a baby inside the car.

In response to the post of Citizens Movement, the Bengaluru City police said that the biker has been taken into custody and the case is being probed.
