RG Kar rape-murder: TMC’s Sagarika Ghosh’s 5 posers to CBI over its ‘inaction and silence’ | Video

New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has hit out at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for what it claims its “inaction” and “silence” on the Kolkata RG Kar Hospital case in which a 31-year-old junior doctor was allegedly raped and murdered on August 9.

In a video statement, Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose said, “The RG Kar case was handed over to the CBI on August 14. Since then the CBI has not taken any action. It is the Kolkata Police which has arrested the prime accused within 24 hours. The CBI has not summoned even a single suspect for questioning in the last five days. There has not been a single update from the CBI.”

Ghose has thrown five questions to the central probe agency over its alleged “tardy investigation”.

1. “Why this inaction and silence on the part of the CBI?

2. Is the CBI trying to bury the case?

3. Is the CBI trying to hand over the political advantage to the BJP by keeping silent and not allowing the truth to come out?

4. Why isn’t the CBI summoning a single suspect?

5. Why isn’t the CBI doing enough to quell the misinformation and the lies that are being spread on social media?”

The TMC MP demanded an immediate press conference by the CBI “to tell the public what steps exactly is it taking in the case”. She pointed out that the TMC will not allow the CBI to stay inactive. “We want justice to be done speedily,” she added.
