New Delhi: Erik Ten Hag’s sacking by Manchester United has created some buzz around the football world. Some United fans might be disappointed, but most of them seem like they are celebrating the sacking of the Dutch manager. It has now been confirmed that Ruben Amorim will be replacing the 54 year old as the new manager of Manchester United. However, there are certain factors that Man United will be taking into consideration and this early sacking will cost the Red Devils a hefty amount of money.
Following months of conjecture, Dutchman Erik ten Hag’s time was running out as Manchester United, currently ranked 14th in the English Premier League standings, lost to West Ham on Sunday for the fourth time in nine league games. Despite intense rumors that Ten Hag was fired in the summer, Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner, and his Ineos group stayed with him. Rather, he received a raise in salary and a contract extension until June 2026 for winning the FA Cup at the end of the season and defeating city rivals Manchester City.

To support Ten Hag’s goals and intentions at the club, the club has spent £564 million over the years, including £200 million in the summer. Erik ten Hag is expected to get about £17 million in compensation for his early termination. Ten Hag, the former manager of Ajax who joined United in May 2022, had just defended his record. However, the defeat to West Ham turned out to be the last straw.
