Jaipur: In the initial rounds of counting for the bypolls to seven assembly seats in Rajasthan, the BJP took the lead in three constituencies, while the Congress and the Bharat Adivasi Party each led in two seats.
BJP candidates Rajendra Bhambhoo, Rajendra Gurjar, and Revant Ram Danga were leading in the Jhunjhunu, Deoli-Uniara, and Khinwsar constituencies, respectively. Congress candidates Aryaan Zubair and Deen Dayal were ahead in Ramgarh and Dausa, while the Bharat Adivasi Party’s Jitesh Kumar Katara and Anil Kumar Katara led in Salumbar and Chorasi.
The bypolls for these seven assembly seats – Jhunjhunu, Ramgarh, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinvsar, Salumbar, and Chaurasi – were conducted on November 13.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place across all counting centres as Election Commission personnel count the ballots first followed by EVMs.

The counting process began at 8 am with postal ballots. It was then followed by counting the votes from the EVM machines. The EVM vote counting is expected to be completed in 22 rounds for Jhunjhunu and Salumbar, 21 rounds for Ramgarh, 20 rounds each for Deoli-Uniara and Khinvsar, and 18 rounds each for Dausa and Chaurasi.
