New Delhi: Delhi Police is preparing to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan who is currently missing after being booked allegedly leading an attack on a police team that was going to arrest a proclaimed offender in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar on Monday.
Teams of the Special Cell and the Crime Branch are carrying out raids at multiple locations in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan after Khan went untraceable on Tuesday, sources said.
His phone was found switched off and the last recorded location is of Mithapur near his Okhla constituency from where he defeated BJP’s Manish Chaudhary in the Delhi assembly elections last week.
It is also suspected that Khan is being aided by some AAP leaders to evade the law.
