‘Non-violent conflict resolution techniques’
Rahul Gandhi said the idea of organising such camps was to introduce youth to the beauty of the ‘Gentle Art’, a combination of “meditation and non-violent conflict resolution techniques”.
Rahul Gandhi started his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur on January 14, 2024, which culminated in Mumbai on March, 20, 2024. The Yatra passed through 14 states and 85 districts, covering a distance of around 6,700-Km in over two months.

“During the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, as we journeyed across thousands of kilometers, we had a daily routine of practicing jiu-jitsu every evening at our campsite. What began as a simple way to stay fit quickly evolved into a community activity, bringing together fellow yatris and young martial arts students from the towns where we stayed,” Rahul Gandhi said while sharing a video from his yatra.
‘Transforming violence into gentleness’
Rahul Gandhi mentioned that the goal of such camps was to instill in youth the value of transforming violence into gentleness and “giving them the tools to build a more compassionate and safer society.”
The Leader of Opposition also said he wants to share his experience with the people hoping to inspire them to take up the practice of the ‘Gentle Art’ on National Sports Day.
