Raebareli: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday arrived in his parliamentary constituency — Rae Bareli for a two-day visit to take part in various programs and hold meetings with party office-bearers and workers.
According to the itinerary released by district Congress president Pankaj Tiwari, Rahul Gandhi arrived in the district by road after landing at the Lucknow airport. At the airport, Gandhi was welcomed by UP Congress chief Ajay Rai, Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma and Tiwari.

Rahul Gandhi Rae Bareli visit schedule
His visit began at 10:30 am with an interaction with workers from the Bachhrawan assembly constituency at Balaji Marriage Lawn. At 12 noon, he is scheduled to meet students at Mool Bharatiya Hostel in Civil Lines.
Following this, the former Congress chief will participate in a women’s dialogue program at Sahkari Sangh Limited in Uttarpara at 1 pm. He will also unveil a statue and address a gathering at Ranabeni Madhav Singh Memorial Inter College in Shankarpur, Jagatpur.
Later, he will proceed to Bhueamau Guest House, where he will be staying. During his visit, surprise stops have been planned in Unchahar and Sadar assembly constituencies, according to Tiwari. On Thursday evening, he will meet with party leaders and workers at the guest house.
On Friday, Gandhi will interact with the public at the guest house before attending an event at Bheera Govindpur. He is also scheduled to visit the Modern Rail Coach Factory for an inspection, followed by a youth dialogue program in Lalganj in the afternoon, before departing for Lucknow airport.
Congress workers have begun preparations for Gandhi’s visit, Tiwari added.
Congress focuses on district-level leadership
On Wednesday, the Congress leadership resolved to strengthen its district units, making them the focal point of the party’s organisational transformation. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge emphasised the need to hold office-bearers accountable for election results.
Additionally, the party decided to launch ‘relay yatras’ nationwide, starting in mid-April and concluding on January 26, 2026, in line with the resolution passed at the Belagavi working committee meeting last December.
