Gurdaspur: Hours after a low-intensity blast took place outside the house of a policeman in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, the Babbar Khalsa group has taken the responsibility. There is no report of any casualty in the incident so far. In recent times, there have been reports of low-intensity blasts in police stations across the state.
The blast took place in Raimal village of Dera Baba Nanak in the district. Two members of the Babbar Khalsa group Happy Pasiyan and his associate Shera Maan took responsibility in a social media message.’
What Babbar Khalsa terrorists wrote in a message
“I, Happy Pasiyan, and brother Shera take responsibility for the grenade attack that took place today at the house of the policeman in village Raimal. Two months back, he had gone to my home with some policemen and misbehaved with my family. He had also taken the DVR of the cameras forcibly. Earlier too, he did wrong with other families in Ramdas area, which could never be tolerated,” the post read on social media.
He added, “Any policeman or police officer must be careful about doing such things in the future. A big action will be taken if the police do not stop harassing innocent people. The policemen will also be targeted if they do not stop such things.”
Recently, another blast took place at Fatehgarh Chudiyan bypass police post. A hand grenade
was reportedly thrown at the police post from the top of the bridge. The incident resulted in commotion, so the policemen, locked the post and disappeared.
The Punjab government has ordered police stations to increase security
With such incidents being repeated in recent times, the police suspect a nexus between terrorists and gangsters. Since police stations have been continuously targeted in Punjab, the state government has instructed to increase security in all police stations.
