Pune: A woman traveling to Delhi from Pune was removed from a flight after she allegedly assaulted two co-passengers and a CISF constable while the boarding process was on at Lohegaon airport. She reportedly had a violent outburst, officials said.
As per a report by ‘The Times of India’, she attacked a brother and sister duo who were sitting in their allotted seats. As the situation went out of hand, the crew members in the flight then called CISF personnel to defuse the tensions. Soon after, two CISF personnel, constables Priyanka Reddy and Sonika Pal reached the spot.
CISF constables tried to defuse tension
Even as they tried to defuse the tension, the situation got out of hand with the accused woman then started slapping Reddy. She even bit the constable in her bit of rage. After some efforts, the constables managed to restrain her. After this, the woman and her husband were escorted off the flight, after which the couple was handed over to the airport police. The case was subsequently registered against the woman. While the woman is a homemaker, her husband is an IT professional. The couple was going to Delhi to attend a funeral.
The woman sent back with notice
Sharing further details, a senior police officer at the airport informed that the woman was sent back home with a notice to cooperate with the probe. While the statements of co-passengers will be recorded later, the two CISF constables have already given their statements. Speaking to ‘The Times of India’ a senior official further said that the woman seemed to be in extreme distress because of some personal matter. After she had an altercation with co-passengers, the pilot refused to fly with her.
